How we compared ecommerce email marketing platforms
To find the best ecommerce email marketing software for online shops, we checked every price on the vendor’s official pricing page on September 25, 2026, and compared the ecommerce features that move revenue: abandoned-cart and browse-abandonment flows, product recommendations, store integrations with Shopify and WooCommerce, SMS, and what each free plan allows. We also checked each vendor’s own domain authentication with the lookups behind our DMARC checker.
What matters in email marketing for an online store
- Store integration. Native Shopify or WooCommerce apps sync orders, products and browsing events automatically; connector-based links (Zapier) work but pass less data.
- Ecommerce automation. Welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post-purchase and win-back flows are where most email revenue comes from.
- SMS and chat. A second channel lifts cart recovery. Some platforms add chat apps and in-chat checkout on top of SMS.
- Official pricing as you grow. Ecommerce lists grow fast, so compare the price at your list size a year from now.
- Deliverability. Promotions go out often; authenticate your domain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC and watch complaint rates. Check it with our sender reputation checker.

The best email marketing platforms for ecommerce in 2026
1. SendPulse
- Email, SMS and chat commerce in one account
- Payments inside chats; WhatsApp Business API provider
- Largest free email allowance of the specialists: 15,000 a month
- Limitation: Shopify via Zapier, not a native app
SendPulse is an AI-driven email marketing and chatbot platform built for scaling businesses, and for online stores its strength is reach across channels. It helps a store attract leads and convert them into customers with email campaigns, SMS, web push, pop-up forms and chatbots on Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, TikTok and Viber, all from one account. SendPulse is a Meta Partner and an official WhatsApp Business API provider, it can bring leads from ads straight into WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram conversations, and it accepts payments inside chats, so a customer can buy without leaving the conversation.
Its Automation 360 builder runs abandoned-cart and post-purchase flows that can follow up by email, SMS, messenger or push, and SendPulse helps with repeat purchases, upsells and cross-sells. It has a WooCommerce integration and a website builder for landing pages and online stores; Shopify stores connect through Zapier. The free-forever plan covers 500 subscribers and 15,000 emails a month, and paid plans start at about $8 a month.
SendPulse is an international company with an office in Brazil, and it integrates with 40+ services. The trade-offs for ecommerce: Shopify data arrives through a connector rather than a native app, so segmentation on browsing and product data is shallower than Klaviyo’s, and pricing scales with subscribers.
2. Klaviyo
- Deepest ecommerce data and predictive analytics
- Native Shopify, WooCommerce and BigCommerce
- Limitation: price rises quickly with profiles
Klaviyo is the default for Shopify brands that want to segment on every order, product view and predicted lifetime value. Its native integrations sync store data in real time, and its flows and SMS are built around ecommerce.
It is expensive as profiles grow, the free plan covers only 250 profiles and 500 emails a month, and its depth is more than a small store usually needs.
3. Omnisend
- Ecommerce flows on every plan
- Cheaper than Klaviyo at the same size
- Limitation: SMS and advanced AI only on Pro
Omnisend offers most of Klaviyo’s ecommerce toolkit for less: cart-abandonment and order flows on every plan, product recommendations, web push and a free 5-day migration service. Standard costs $11.20 a month for 500 contacts and 6,000 emails.
Pro, at $41.30 a month for 2,500 contacts, adds unlimited emails and SMS from $0.007 a message. Its free plan is small (250 contacts, 500 emails).
4. Shopify Email
- 10,000 free emails a month
- No setup: part of Shopify
- Limitation: basic segmentation and automation
Shopify Email is built into Shopify: 10,000 free emails a month, then $1 per 1,000. Templates pull products straight from your store, and pre-built automations cover welcome, win-back and upsell.
It is the easiest start, but segmentation and automation are basic compared with the specialists, and it only works for Shopify stores.
5. Mailchimp
- 300+ integrations
- Familiar editor
- Limitation: pricier than ecommerce specialists
Mailchimp connects to more tools than anyone else and has Shopify and WooCommerce apps with abandoned-cart flows. It is a reasonable choice if your store relies on a specific integration.
For ecommerce it is pricier than Omnisend at the same list size, Essentials is $13 a month for the first year only, and its automation is simpler than Klaviyo’s.
6. Drip
- Strong ecommerce workflows
- Revenue attribution
- Limitation: no free plan
Drip focuses on ecommerce automation with visual workflows, onsite pop-ups and revenue attribution, and native Shopify and WooCommerce integrations.
It has no free plan, starts at about $39 a month for 2,500 contacts, and its SMS is weaker than Klaviyo’s or Omnisend’s.
7. Attentive
- Best-in-class SMS
- Strong list growth tools
- Limitation: custom pricing for larger brands
Attentive is an SMS-first platform used by larger ecommerce brands, with email added on top. Its list-growth tools and SMS journeys are strong.
Pricing is custom and aimed at larger brands, so it is rarely the right fit for a small store.

The ecommerce email flows every store should run
- Welcome series: 2 to 3 emails introducing the brand, with a first-order incentive.
- Abandoned cart: a reminder within an hour, then one or two follow-ups; add SMS or a chat message for the second touch.
- Browse abandonment: a gentle nudge featuring the products someone viewed.
- Post-purchase: order confirmation, shipping updates, then a review request and a cross-sell.
- Win-back: re-engage customers who have not bought in 90 to 180 days, then suppress those who never respond (see our sunset policy guide).
All seven platforms can run these flows; the difference is how much store data they can use to personalise them.
